About

Some people eat to live, we live to eat.  I can’t remember a day when my first thought in the morning wasn’t “what’s for dinner”?

Most people would think that working in specialty food and cheese would be the ideal way to experience great foods from all over, and indeed, it’s been a great start. But, I’ve longed for the day that rather than gaze upon the travel photos of others, admiring the cornucopia of flavors that they share, that we have the chance to immerse ourselves in the food culture of as many places as we can.  Those that know me know that I am fascinated by Asian foods and culture, so that’s where we are starting. And we’ll take it from there.

This site will serve a couple of purposes.  One, to keep in touch with family and friends, especially in areas of the world where social media sites are banned, and also to create a chronicle of places we’ve visited, in hopes of sharing those adventures with others.

2025 update: to remember the places I’ve been.

OK…..I get it now. Being a Chef and having known you for a number of years, I get it. I really like the blog and the insight you have shared with everyone who’s living a little more through your travels. Keep up the reporting, stay safe and I look forward to reading more of your adventures….

Thanks Dan, we are having a pretty remarkable time. We were just on a farmstay in central southern Cambodia, now in Kampot, and soon into Vietnam. Hope that you are well and will keep in touch
